“Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” – 1 Peter 3:3-4
Downtown Demure started as a simple modest fashion blog written from the perspective of a party-girl-turned-devout-Christian out to prove that women can dress modestly and stylishly. Then I realized I wanted this blog to feature more than pretty photos of modest clothing — I wanted to discuss the motivation behind my clothing choices: my faith.
So now this is a blog that allows me to explore the two big F’s in my life: faith and fashion. My ultimate goals are to encourage women to live faithfully and boldly for Christ and dress modestly yet stylishly. My hope is that each post glorifies God in different ways and strengthens whoever stumbles upon it.
