A casual, carefree stroll down the beach on a warm summer night with mists of ocean breeze splashing my skin. That’s what I think of whenever I see this dress. The lightweight jersey fabric and beach-y graecian print scream “summer, summer, summertime” to me. Perhaps that’s why it’s my favorite Anthropologie dress I’ve ever owned. I purchased this last year to wear to my friend’s wedding, and I’m still crazy about it.
As much as I love this dress, there are some issues: it has a racer back cut and the arm holes are cut really low, exposing my bra and way more of my back than I’m comfortable showing. So I always have to wear a cover up with this dress. I typically don a cropped gray cardigan or shawl, but I figured I’d try something different for this shoot: a chambray shirt tied around the waist. It was definitely a risk. Do you think it paid off?
Here are some more dreamy Anthro maxi dresses (hint hint: you might want to sign up for Anthro’s email list so you can be notified of their sales):

This dress looks beautiful with the tied up chambray shirt! It always annoys me when the perfect dress has something wrong with it haha. But you’ve solved the issues with some great creativity here, and the outfit is lovely. Great necklace too! Have an awesome weekend!

> AleczAww, thank you, Alecz! You are too sweet! Yea, it’s so annoying when there’s just ONE thing wrong with a nearly perfect dress. But, hey, at least we get to exercise our style chops to remedy the problem. 🙂

Looks awesome with the chambray shirt! I’m so glad I now have Instagram so I don’t have to miss out on this! I’ve entered many giveaways on Instagram already, just haven’t won yet lol. I’ve been to their website before but not in a long time. However, I don’t think I would have any problem finding something to buy from them if I won 🙂
Elizabeth
> ElizabethThanks, Elizabeth! And hey, I haven’t won any of those giveaways either (hmph). Whenever I host mine, I wish I could win them myself! Haha. I’m sure you’ll be able to find something worthwhile with $200 to Anthro…they have adorable home goods as well!

This outfit is adorable!
On the dress modesty “issues”-have you checked into Halftee? I use their tank top Halftee all. The. Time. Seriously! They’re awesome for under tank tops that just aren’t appropriate as is.

So glad I was introduced to your blog (from Alice’s link up). Your lifestyle and fashion is right up my alley. Love the chambray shirt with this maxi. I can totally relate to this same issue, I’m not one for showing too much skin.
