How to Take Your White Jeans From Day to Night (in 30 Seconds) with Wild Blue Denim

How to Take Your White Jeans From Day to Night (in 30 Seconds Flat) - Downtown Demure

Now that springtime is officially here and somehow colder than winter (at least in L.A.), I’m already looking forward to summer. And we all know white denim is a staple in the summer. Well, I wear white jeans year round with zero shame, but they are in heavy rotation in the summertime. Since most of us will likely don a pair of white jeans at some point this summer, I thought it might be useful to show how easy it is transform the summer staple from a casual daytime look to a sleek nighttime look in a matter of seconds.

Before I explain my 30-second outfit change, I have to talk about these jeans from Wild Blue Denim’s collaboration with Sadie Robertson (yes, the adorable Sadie from Duck Dynasty). They are literally the softest and most comfortable jeans I’ve ever owned. I know that’s a hyperbolic statement, but I mean every word. I don’t know how the WBD team produced such soft jeans, but I’m all about it. I also like that these jeans have a bit of stretch to them, so the fit is forgiving. Pretty much the only feature of this jean I don’t love is the distress effect in the knees – I think there’s simply too much of it on both legs.

The chambray shirt is also from the same collection, and, surprise surprise, I love it too! Mostly because I’m a sucker for unique details, like the tulip back. It doesn’t hurt that this beauty costs $9.99 and is just as soft as the jeans. To anyone interested in this shirt, I will offer one caution: Wear a camisole underneath because the back of this top can rise above the band of your jeans, which would expose a good amount of skin back there (gotta avoid the dreaded crack attack).

N0w, on to the fun stuff…

This outfit is an accurate depiction of my summer uniform: simple and composed of classic pieces. Because I get super lazy in the summer. I simply added a free tote I received from an event (don’t judge…it’s the cutest freebie tote ever), my every day sandals, and a wrap bracelet to my WBD outfit and boom…outfit complete.

But here’s the kicker: My entire nighttime outfit is IN that tote and it only took me 30 seconds to put it on.

This outfit is good for date night, movie night, and pretty much any semi-casual nighttime activity that requires a decent outfit. And the formula is simple: white jeans + denim/chambray top + leather jacket + statement necklace + heeled sandals. It’s that easy! Now, I want you to try it (weather permitting). 😉

Ladies, how do YOU wear your white jeans?

Lovely! I’m definitely going to check out WIld Blue. Though my shape is nothing like you and Sadie, so maybe they have a trouser…we’ll see. Thanks for the post – Leslie – http://www.LittleGemsUSA.com

Rats….no trousers, but I was able to check out the other site Fashion & Compassion and they are inspiring to review. I want to be able to help more people like that. Beautiful.

I’m so happy to read your comment, Leslie, because F&C is one of my favorite fashion non-profits. I’m actually planning a big F&C feature for April 18th, so stay tuned for that. There will be plenty of opps to support their efforts and check out more of their beautiful goods. 🙂

The addition of the leather jacket and statement necklace is perfection. I LOVE how they edge up the outfit!

Those jeans are adorable on you!! And I know you don’t love the distressing, but I actually think it looks great. The jacket, statement necklace, and heels are so sophisticated. You totally inspired me for my night out tonight.

Haha, crack attack! I have a huge problem with this with just about every pair of pants I own that is not high waist! I remember my favorite pair of jeans when I was a kid was a cream colored Versace. Now, I’m simply terrified of wearing light colored jeans. Time has not been good to my thighs! 🙂

Girl, I’m positive my thighs are larger than yours! (I’m curvier than I appear in photos.) You could totally rock light jeans. You can always wear a top with a longer hem to glide over your thighs if you’re concerned about that. But I really don’t think you’d need to…

This outfit is absolutely darling! I’ve actually never owned a pair of white jeans, but I’ve always wanted some. Now I’m feeling inspired to finally try it!

Also, I love the tulip back on that shirt. You’re right, I can see how it could be a modesty problem, but with a camisole underneath it’s such a cute detail!

And I love that wall you are taking pictures in front of. I wish I had colorful walls in my town! lol

You know, I didn’t get my first pair of white jeans until I graduated from college, but now I’m hooked. It’s definitely a staple for warm weather months, so go for it! You can start with an inexpensive pair to see how you feel. Let me know if you do! And you’re always welcome to come to LA and we can take a tour of al lthe walls LA has to offer! 🙂

Love the blue denim shirt. It’s nicely designed and more sophisticated in style than the others I usually see. Nice look Elizabeth.
